Christian Family Services of the Midwest, Inc. does not have an international adoption placement program but is experienced and happy to serve families in the international adoption process. Through over 40 years of adoption services to families, we have assisted many families through successful international adoption experiences. We have worked with many agencies nationwide who serve as primary providers and we would be happy to provide you with information about specific agencies and programs if we have knowledge about that agency or program. We welcome your questions about international adoption and how you can prepare to welcome a child in need from another country. 

Our social workers have extensive experience in preparing home studies for both the Hague and Non-Hague adoption process.

In utilizing Christian Family Services of the Midwest, Inc. to assist in your international adoption you can expect the following:

  • A social worker knowledgeable about international adoption with a caring and loving heart for international adoption.
  • A home study that will comply with all state, federal, Hague, and country-specific adoption requirements.
  • Frequent communication between your adoption agency and your CFS social worker.
  • Help and assistance with parts of your dossier preparation including fingerprinting, USCIS, and helpful tips about things on the state and local level.
  • The ability to update the home study when needed.
  • Assistance with completing required post-placement or post-adoption reports.
  • Explanation of the requirements for court proceedings (if necessary) for a recognition of adoption or re-adoption.
  • Ability to make appropriate referrals to medical professionals, counselors who understand attachment and trauma issues, attorneys, support groups, schools, cultural events, and local events pertinent to the adoption community.
